A New Kind of Science – Stephen Wolfram

Posted under Education by admin

Noted scientist Stephen Wolfram shares his viewpoint of how the astonishing formula of elementary mechanism experiments have forced him to cruise the total brand new approach of seeking during processes in the universe. Series: “Frontiers of Knowledge” [4/2003] [Science] [Show ID: 7153]

  1. ppedalen Said,

But whe obveusly have something , You know live and universe …I feel therefor i am , i know i must b lol Some people know this, and there are other examples trying to define and make up bigger perspektiv in forexample superstrings and multidimensions…Its called paradigm shift’s you know new basics or development on earlier theories….Things are miracolous random and just right hehe

  2. ppedalen Said,

Yes ..But couldnt it b like with atoms , when viewed one way they are wawes and when another they are solid.
That is when looking in one dimension it is random, but when looking in another the view changes. Cause whe need the dualism..Dont know iff ya follow me here but its actually quite obvius for me anyways..you physicaly cant have forever, you cant have nothing ”at all” then something, without a repepetition..wich is ruled out by first rule::lol YOU GET IT?

  4. TrutherD1 Said,

Research “chemtrails” here on YouTube. Check my vids I film it all the time. Wake up and wake others!

  5. grooveclubhouse Said,

Rule 30 is a one-dimensional binary cellular automaton rule.
    duh, lol! ;-)

  6. Blacklemon67 Said,

lol the intro dude looks really nervious

  7. tekhiun Said,

is the quality of being random

  8. apsofij Said,

I’m dumb. What is randomness, exactly?

  9. byScrooby Said,

    Quick! Google ‘God: hidden science’

  10. iamthewalrusQ Said,

    what actually is rule 30?

  11. iamthewalrusQ Said,

    @2009abuabdullah, hail satan….

  12. FilmPA Said,

The very idea of “Accident” is so hard to fathom.. that someone had to make up a little story.

  13. JoeyCanPwnRS Said,

7:50 Triforces? Nice patterns, truly beautiful AND scientific.

  14. 2009abuabdullah Said,

    1430 years ago, God says:
Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?
    Quran surah 21 verse 30
I sincerely invite all the sincere people to Islam in order to save themselves from the hellfire!

  15. JamesMorlan Said,

    @rollinshultz
My apologies – I just came off the end of a long stream of “conversations” which were really just a series of attempts by others to impose their beliefs on me or tell me how I was wrong. I don’t like being put in a position where I feel I am expected to choose a belief, one way or another. Nobody can prove one way or the other that any god exists, so it’s a rather pointless debate. I’m fine with discussing life philosophy, but not interested in debating about a god anymore.

  16. ke4vtw Said,

    >>Computer programs are no where nearly as complicated as naturally occurring biological systems.

So your premise is that simple systems require more design than complex systems?

    >>No god could “design” them.

You’re assuming here that you know all of the capabilities any such god could have. Again, explain to Napoleon the concepts of space travel, and he would say the same thing; no human could design such a craft.

  17. mapmanic Said,

Computer programs are no where nearly as complicated as naturally occurring biological systems. The only way to get true complexity is in self-evolving systems. Compare a Soviet-style command economy with a laissez-faire economies–the levels of complexity are orders of magnitude greater when things evolve. Same thing for biological systems. No god could “design” them. Artificial intelligence will happen only when computer systems are set up to evolve.

  18. ke4vtw Said,

Even for the simplest computer program that he demonstrates, someone had to write the program. Who wrote the programs found in nature?

  19. ke4vtw Said,

Who’s to say that God doesn’t follow the rules? Lasers, computers, cell phones, and the rest of what we consider mundane would have seemed like “tall tales” just 100 or so years ago!

We may find someday that God has been playing by the laws of nature all along, but He understands them far better than we (I believe, because He created them) and so He is able to do miraculous things without breaking a single law of nature.

  20. rollinshultz Said,

I meant no disrespect. When yo don’t know someone all you have to go by is what comes out of their mouth. You did state the whole concept of God was stupid and that’s what I was going by.
Why don’t you and I agree to reset the playing field and give honest discussion a try. You seem to be intelligent and respectful so I am willing if you are.
I love science all my life and God as well. In fact there are verses in scripture that say we should investigate the hidden things t see what he has made

  21. JamesMorlan Said,

You’re quite the presumptuous one to assume I haven’t given it a try. The problem is, a lot of people don’t use the bible as a guide, they take it literally. Good for Nachmonides for figuring out the 10 dimensions. M theory suggests there are 11, and others suggest possibly more, but that’s OK – we can stop at 10 if the Bible says it is so.
No thanks – I’ll stick with science for discovering knowledge. It’s a guide I can follow that is actually useful and isn’t cluttered with tall tales.

  22. lairjo Said,

Check out some crazy slime in this video: Search Youtube for …………….. Fedde Slime Boy…………..it’s the first result

  23. rollinshultz Said,

I appreciate everything he had to say about this theory of his. I think he may be one of the brightest scientists to come along in 40-50 years. I disagree with his understanding of the end result and it is a matter of a leap of faith on his part. I hope he can enlist the aid of many in his research as this need to be an important avenue of exploration.
The greates breakthroughs of the last 100 years have all pointed to intelligent design and once this is refined we will see the same result.

  24. rollinshultz Said,

I feel your pain, I have been there. Please tell me what it is about God and His creation that makes you view Him as cruel. I have been around the block and I am sure I can logically and maturely answer all of your doubts, without disrespecting you as an individual.
Taking the time for logical discussion is one of the most facinating aspects of life.
